About The Position

MedSpeed is a healthcare logistics company that partners with healthcare organizations to transport medical supplies, specimens, and other materials. The Medical Delivery Driver spends most of the workday driving a company-owned vehicle and safely transporting lab specimens, medical records, pharmaceuticals, x-rays, hospital supplies, interoffice mail, and related materials. The position is part time, with a Monday–Friday route scheduled from 8:00 a.m. to 12:30 p.m., and pays $18 per hour. Some heavy lifting is required. Training is provided through MedSpeed’s Blue Shirt Certified program.

Requirements

High school diploma or equivalent.
Must be at least 19 years old and have held an active driver’s license for at least 3 years.
Excellent driving history.
Strong customer service and interpersonal skills.
Familiarity with and ability to adapt to technology.
Ability to pass an initial and random drug and alcohol screen.
Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds and lift items off storage racks.
Must be comfortable walking and standing for long periods.
Proof of COVID-19 vaccination, depending on location and local mandates.

Responsibilities

Safely drive a company-owned vehicle to transport medical and related materials.
Load and unload the company vehicle using appropriate equipment.
Operate a handheld scanning device to track items throughout the transportation cycle.
Follow operating policies, procedures, and service schedules.
Demonstrate safe and courteous driving behavior.
Conduct pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections and keep the vehicle clean, neat, and orderly.
Demonstrate teamwork, cooperation, and adaptability with teammates and clients.
Help build and nurture a collaborative MedSpeed team culture.
