We are recruiting for a Full-Time Medical Day Care Certified Child Life Specialist (CCLS) to join our skilled team of pediatric professionals in Northfield, NJ. This position is benefit eligible. Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Child Life, Therapeutic Recreation, Child Development, or related field
  • Certified Child Life Specialist (CCLS) or eligible / Recreational Therapist credentials (CTR or equivalent)
  • Experience working with children with chronic illness and/or disabilities
  • Ability to safely supervise groups of children
  • Strong communication and interdisciplinary teamwork skills
  • Demonstrates cultural sensitivity and trauma-informed care
  • Current CPR certification (BLS required)

Nice To Haves

  • Pediatric healthcare or medical daycare experience preferred

Responsibilities

  • Provides comprehensive developmental, psychosocial, and therapeutic support services to pediatric patients enrolled in the Medical Day Care program.
  • Functions as a key member of the Interdisciplinary Team (IDT).
  • Responsible for assessing, planning, implementing, and evaluating developmentally appropriate therapeutic activities that promote: Gross motor development, Fine motor development, Cognitive functioning, Social and emotional development.
  • Includes medical play, coping support, behavior strategies, therapeutic recreation, and family-centered interventions for children with chronic illness and disabilities.
  • Delivers care in accordance with: Facility policies and procedures, NJ Department of Health Pediatric Medical Day Care standards, Interdisciplinary care planning requirements, Infection control and safety policies.
