About The Position

Digestive Disease Consultants, a gastroenterology practice with a primary location in Altamonte Springs and satellite locations in Lake Mary and Oviedo, is seeking an organized Medical Billing Specialist. The role handles medical billing, collections, claims, patient accounts, and communication with patients and insurance companies. Work is performed in an office environment and requires extended periods of sitting, computer-screen viewing, and repetitive hand and wrist motions.

Requirements

At least 1 year of experience with medical billing and collections.
Accounts receivable skills.
Strong understanding of insurance plans and contracts.
Excellent customer service skills.
Excellent organizational skills.
Ability to multitask accurately and efficiently.

E-Clinical Works experience.

Responsibilities

Post information from EOBs and ERAs to patient charts.
Comply with medical coding guidelines and policies.
Receive and review patient charts and documents for verification and accuracy.
Prepare and submit insurance claims.
Determine, correct, and submit billable claims.
Process accounts and analyze information.
Verify authorizations and diagnosis codes.
Prepare and run reports.
Oversee patient accounts.
Answer patient questions and advise them about insurance coverage and benefits.
Generate patient statements and establish repayment plans with patients.
Contact insurance billing departments to address and correct billing errors and omissions.
