About The Position

Valley Medical Group is seeking a Medical Billing Specialist to join their team in a dynamic environment. This provider-owned, multi-specialty group serves over 55,000 patients across four locations in the Pioneer Valley. The ideal candidate will be able to work independently, multi-task, and prioritize effectively in a fast-paced billing office. Previous medical collections experience and general insurance billing practice knowledge are preferred but not required.

Requirements

• Minimum of 2 years medical billing/coding within a Medical Practice.
• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Strong organizational skills that reflect ability to perform and prioritize multiple tasks seamlessly with excellent accuracy and attention to detail.

Nice To Haves

• CPC (Certified Professional Coder) a plus.
• Athena experience preferred.
• Previous medical collections experience.
• General insurance billing practice knowledge.

Responsibilities

• Accurate entry and processing of assigned charge entry within the Practice Management System.
• Efficient and accurate management of Follow-up/Denial Claims.
• Appropriate and accurate management of patient requests.
• Cash receipts posting.
• Patient correspondence.
