About The Position

COME BUILD YOUR CAREER WITH VIBRA HEALTHCARE! We are seeking a Medical Biller to join our team! Vibra Hospital of Southeastern Massachusetts, located in New Bedford, MA, is a 90 bed Critical Care Hospital, providing acute care services to patients recovering from serious illnesses or injuries. Often our patients require additional critical care services for medically complex conditions such as trauma, infectious diseases, wound healing, cardiovascular disease, stroke, amputation and ventilator weaning. As a smaller, specialized hospital, we offer an opportunity to work in a fast-paced and friendly work environment where you really get to know your patients and their families.

Requirements

  • Minimum of five (5) years of progressive healthcare revenue cycle or facility billing experience.
  • A Bachelor’s degree in Healthcare Administration, Business, Accounting, or related field preferred.
  • Experience with hospital billing strongly preferred.
  • Knowledge of Medicare, Medicaid, managed care, and commercial insurance reimbursement preferred.
  • Understanding of revenue cycle processes, claim denial management, and collections workflows.
  • Ability to project a professional image.
  • Knowledge of regulatory standards and compliance requirements.
  • Strong organizational, prioritizing and analytical skills.
  • Ability to make independent decisions when circumstances warrant.
  • Working knowledge of computer and software applications used in job functions.
  • Experience with electronic medical records and billing systems preferred.
  • Must be proficient in Microsoft Office applications including Excel, Word, and Outlook.
  • Freedom from illegal use of and effects of use of drugs and alcohol in the workplace.

Responsibilities

  • Preparing, reviewing, and submitting accurate claims to Medicare, Medicaid, commercial insurance, managed care, and patient balances.
  • Ensuring claims are compliant with strict government regulations and payer-specific rules, minimizing denials and supporting timely reimbursement.
  • Serving as the front end of the accounts receivable process, laying the foundation for efficient collections and reducing denials downstream.
