About The Position

The Medical Assistant Program Instructor provides updated and fully prepared instruction to students, actively engages in retention activities and manages the classroom/lab activities. The Instructor is responsible for submitting assigned grading and attendance documentation to meet deadlines. Fortis Institute in Port St Lucie is seeking an experienced, highly motivated Medical Assistant to join its faculty. Requirements

• Completion of an accredited Medical Assisting Program resulting in a Certificate of Completion or a Diploma.
• RMA and/or CMA and/or CCMA certifications.
• At least three years of experience as an MA in a clinical setting.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Highly organized, motivated and results-driven.

Nice To Haves

• An associate degree is preferred.
• Prior higher education, postsecondary teaching experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provide updated and fully prepared instruction to students.
• Actively engage in retention activities.
• Manage classroom/lab activities.
• Submit assigned grading and attendance documentation to meet deadlines.
• Teach Medical Assisting courses.
• Provide academic advising to students.
• Participate in department training, meetings, and graduation.
