About The Position

The Medical Assistant assists in implementing healthcare services and supports fellow employees in providing high-quality, personalized patient care while maintaining positive working relationships with the healthcare team. Under a physician’s supervision, the Medical Assistant provides individualized, direct patient care. The position is in the Dermatology department and may involve working in multiple outpatient areas.

Requirements

• A Medical Assisting diploma, degree, or certificate is required. Other medical certificates in a related field may be considered when combined with CMA/RMA certification.
• Medical Assistant credentialing is required within 120 calendar days of hire, subject to possible exceptions for testing schedules or unforeseen circumstances.
• Active American Heart Association Health Care Provider BLS certification is required at hire and must be maintained throughout employment. American Red Cross CPR for Professional Rescuers is accepted at hire only.
• Knowledge and skills in techniques of good patient care.
• Ability to operate office equipment, including personal computers, fax machines, copiers, and telephones.
• Accuracy, integrity, and flexibility to work in multiple outpatient areas.

Nice To Haves

• Previous Electronic Medical Records experience.
• Previous ambulatory care medical assisting or nursing experience.
