About The Position

Byron Center Family Medicine is a collaborative, patient-centered practice with four Physicians and three Advanced Practice Providers. The practice provides comprehensive care for patients of all ages and focuses on lasting relationships with patients, families, and colleagues. Its support team includes ten Medical Assistants, three Patient Service Representatives, a part-time X-ray Technician, a Pharmacist, a Behavioral Health Specialist, and a Care Manager.

As a Medical Assistant with Corewell Health, you will be part of the clinical support team, working closely with other healthcare professionals to help deliver high-quality care and make a difference in patients’ lives. Corewell Health operates more than 300 outpatient clinics across Michigan, including over 40 types of primary care and specialty practices.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Completion of an accredited Medical Assistant training program that includes hands-on, in-person clinical skills training, or at least one year of experience working specifically as a Medical Assistant, LPN, Paramedic, or EMT performing direct patient care and clinical support functions consistent with the Medical Assistant scope of practice.
• AHA or ARC Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required within 90 days.
• Obtain one of the listed Medical Assistant certifications within 120 days: AAMA Certified Medical Assistant (CMA), AMT Registered Medical Assistant (RMA), NHA Certified Medical Assistant (CCMA), NCCT Certified Medical Assistant (NCMA), or NAHP Certified Medical Assistant (NRCMA).
