MEDICAL ASSISTANT OUTLYING
About The Position
Sun Life Health is seeking a Medical Assistant for its outlying sites. This full-time position offers the opportunity to make a significant impact in patients' lives by supporting providers and ensuring smooth patient care across multiple locations. The role involves assisting with patient examinations, immunizations, lab testing, phlebotomy, and patient education on medications and preventative care. Additionally, the Medical Assistant will handle front desk duties such as check-in/out, payment processing, and scheduling, while maintaining accurate documentation and clinic readiness. Requirements
- High School Diploma or GED
- CPR certification required (can be obtained during orientation)
Nice To Haves
- Medical Assistant certification (CMA or RMA) preferred; eligible for certification pay differential
- 2–5 years’ Medical Assistant experience preferred
Responsibilities
- Support providers and ensure smooth patient care across multiple sites
- Assist with patient prep, exams, immunizations, lab testing, and phlebotomy
- Educate patients on medications, preventative care, and self-management goals
- Maintain accurate documentation, clinic standards, and equipment/supply readiness
- Provide front desk support, including check-in/out, payments, and scheduling
- Act as a professional liaison between patients, providers, and other facilities
