Technician Medical Surgical - Medical Assistant – Neurosurgery & PMR – Fresh Meadows, Queens (Mandarin or Korean Speaking)
About The Position
NewYork-Presbyterian Medical Groups (NYPMG), part of NewYork-Presbyterian’s physician enterprise, provides primary care and multispecialty care through practices in the New York metropolitan area. The Medical Assistant supports practitioners and management with clinical and clerical functions in accordance with established policies and procedures. This is a technical position with no supervisory responsibility. The role supports the Neurosurgery & PMR practice in Fresh Meadows, Queens, and requires travel within Queens. Bilingual ability is a plus, including English, Spanish, Mandarin, Korean, or Cantonese. The position is full-time at 36.25 hours per week, Monday through Friday, 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM, with overtime as needed. Roles require on-site presence, which varies by role; employees should live within commuting distance of NYP. NYP does not reimburse travel expenses.
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent GED.
- BLS certification.
Nice To Haves
- Medical Assistant experience in a Neurosurgery healthcare setting.
- At least one year of Medical Assistant experience or an internship in a physician practice.
- Epic experience.
- Current Medical Assistant Certification (CMA) or Registered Medical Assistant (RMA) certification through AAMA, AMT, NHA, or NCCT.
- Bilingual ability in English, Spanish, Mandarin, Korean, or Cantonese.
Responsibilities
- Prepare and assist in the exam room.
- Triage patients.
- Collect urine and draw blood samples.
- Measure and record patients’ height, weight, blood pressure, temperature, and pulse.
- Assist practitioners and management with daily office operations through clinical and clerical functions.
