About The Position

The Medical Assistant is a member of the Nephrology team, which cares for individuals experiencing kidney issues and those at risk of developing kidney-related problems. Under clinicians’ direction, this position provides delegated direct patient care. Duties include collecting and recording data during office visits, measuring vital signs, coordinating tests and services, and performing point-of-care testing and phlebotomy as indicated. The Medical Assistant also supports efficient team workflows and maintains a clean, pleasant physical environment that promotes safe, quality, patient-centered care. Independent clinical decision-making is outside the scope of this role; clinical questions must be referred to a provider or nurse. The role also includes mentoring Medical Assistants new to their positions and supporting students. This is a full-time, on-site, first-shift position working 40 hours per week, with no supervisory or budget responsibility.
