About The Position

Weil Foot & Ankle Institute (WFAI) is seeking a Medical Assistant to work alongside a physician and assist with patient care. This role involves taking vital signs, preparing exam rooms, verifying patient information, assisting with in-office procedures, and scheduling appointments. The Medical Assistant will also help manage patient schedules and perform other office duties. WFAI is a growing organization with a strong focus on patient care and innovation.

Requirements

Medical Assistant certification with 2 years in a healthcare position preferred
High school diploma or GED required
Critical thinking skills, decisive judgment and the ability to work unsupervised or with minimal supervision
Strong computer skills and use of Microsoft Office
Knowledge of basic medical procedures such as dressing a wound
Strong communication skills and ability to actively listen
Strong organizational and clerical skills to maintain patient files and perform office duties
Customer services skills
Knowledge of safety and sanitation procedures
Reliable transportation

Responsibilities

Interview patients to gather medical history and update medical records
Gather basic vital signs, including temperature, blood pressure, height, weight, and pulse
Prepare treatment rooms and patients for exam
Sterilize instruments and set up in-office procedure trays
Manage medical supplies and materials and work with their operational leader to order necessary inventory
Take x-rays
Cross-train to cover front desk activities when needed
Support the physician and team with patient care activities
