About The Position
A Medical Assistant provides care to patients with acute and chronic needs in an ambulatory clinic setting. Under the direction of a clinician, the Medical Assistant assists the provider in gathering information relevant to the patient’s visit and condition. The role also includes communicating clearly with patients by telephone and in person, and collaborating with cross-functional teams to support patient care. Attention to detail and follow-through are important to delivering needed care. The position is based at Avenues Women’s Center, with occasional travel to the Bountiful Clinic to follow a provider. It is scheduled for 36 hours per week, with clinic hours of 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. The listed hourly range is $20.07–$28.59, with the actual rate dependent on experience.
Requirements
- Proof of completion of a Medical Assistant program, or at least one year of Medical Assistant work experience, or a current active and in-good-standing RN or LPN license to practice nursing in Utah.
- Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification for healthcare providers, to be obtained before the start date.
- Basic computer skills, including word processing and data entry.
- Professional manner and strong interpersonal and communication skills.
- Ability to work collaboratively with patients and fellow caregivers to deliver a high level of customer and patient satisfaction.
- Ability to protect patient, member, and caregiver privacy, confidentiality, and Protected Health Information (PHI).
Nice To Haves
- Experience in an outpatient clinic or other healthcare setting.
- Computer literacy with electronic medical record (EMR) systems and other relevant software.
- Current national Medical Assistant certification or registration: RMA (AMT), NCMA, CCMA, or CMA (AAMA).
