About The Position
The Medical Assistant provides care to patients with acute and chronic needs in an ambulatory clinic setting. Under the direction of a clinician, the Medical Assistant assists providers by gathering information relevant to a patient's visit and condition. The role communicates with patients by telephone and in person and collaborates with cross-functional teams to support patient care. Attention to detail and follow-through are important to delivering needed care. The position serves Avenues Women's Center and Bountiful OBGYN in Utah. The posting lists a schedule of three 9-hour shifts per week and clinic hours of 8:15 a.m. to 5:15 p.m., Monday through Friday. It also lists 30 scheduled weekly hours.
Requirements
- Meet one of the following: proof of completion of a Medical Assistant program; at least one year of Medical Assistant work experience; or a current, active RN or LPN license in good standing to practice nursing in Utah.
- Hold current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification for healthcare providers before the start date.
- Demonstrate basic computer skills, including word processing and data entry.
- Demonstrate a professional manner and strong interpersonal and communication skills.
- Work collaboratively with patients and fellow caregivers to deliver a high level of customer and patient satisfaction.
- Protect patient, member, and caregiver privacy, confidentiality, and Protected Health Information (PHI).
- OB/GYN experience in an inpatient or outpatient setting.
Nice To Haves
- Experience in an outpatient clinic or other healthcare setting.
- Computer literacy using electronic medical record (EMR) systems and other relevant software.
- Current national MA certification or registration as an RMA (AMT), NCMA, CCMA, or CMA (AAMA).
