About The Position

CorrectHealth is seeking a full-time, night-shift Medical Assistant in Gretna, Louisiana. CorrectHealth provides comprehensive healthcare services within correctional facilities in Georgia and Louisiana. The Medical Assistant participates in clinical patient care alongside the healthcare team and law enforcement, performing duties under the supervision of a Paramedic, LPN, RN, HSA/HSC, midlevel provider, and/or physician, in accordance with the rules and regulations of the state of employment. The role requires the ability to provide care to the inmate population and respond to needs within the correctional environment, while maintaining a professional attitude.

Requirements

• High school diploma or GED equivalent.
• American Heart Association BLS.
• Medical Assistant certificate or diploma, military documentation from an approved program, current EMT certification, CNA certification, PCT qualification, or proof of active enrollment in an approved school of nursing.

Responsibilities

• Participate in clinical patient care with members of the healthcare team and law enforcement.
• Perform duties under the supervision of a Paramedic, LPN, RN, HSA/HSC, midlevel provider, and/or physician, in accordance with applicable state rules and regulations.
• Provide care to the inmate population and respond to needs within the correctional environment.
• Maintain a professional attitude at all times.
