About The Position

Logan Health's Cancer Program is looking for a Registered or Certified Medical Assistant to be part of their compassionate team! This position will primarily support our Radiation Oncology team, but also may assist our Hematology/Oncology clinic as well. Meaningful Specialty Care – Support patients and families by focusing on comfort, symptom management, and quality of life across serious illness. Collaborative Care Team – Work alongside palliative care providers, nurses, social workers, and support staff in a highly interdisciplinary environment. Requirements

  • Registered Medical Assistant (RMA) or Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) credential.
  • Previous experience in palliative care, hospice, oncology, primary care, or another specialty clinic preferred.
  • Proficiency with vital signs, injections, specimen processing, point-of-care testing, and EMR documentation.
  • Ability to provide calm, empathetic support while maintaining professionalism and respect.
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to work effectively within a multidisciplinary care team.

Responsibilities

  • Prepare patients for visits by reviewing medical histories, obtaining vital signs, and ensuring comfort and privacy.
  • Support providers during exams, symptom management visits, and care discussions.
  • Perform specimen collection, point-of-care testing, and medication administration as directed.
  • Maintain accurate, timely documentation in the EMR system.
  • Assist with care coordination, follow-up scheduling, and patient and family education.
  • Collaborate closely with the interdisciplinary care team to provide seamless, compassionate support to patients and families.
