About The Position

Novella Infusion is hiring a Medical Assistant to support patient care and clinic operations at its Rochester and Portsmouth, New Hampshire locations. The role includes preparing and processing lab samples, managing referrals, maintaining inventory, assisting patients with check-in and check-out, verifying insurance, collecting payments, maintaining electronic medical records, and providing administrative support. The schedule is Monday through Thursday, 8:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. in Rochester and Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. in Portsmouth.

Requirements

High school diploma or equivalent.
Familiarity with medical terminology and basic healthcare procedures.
Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment while maintaining professionalism.
Strong interpersonal and verbal communication skills.
Ability to handle multiple tasks efficiently while maintaining attention to detail.
Provide friendly, compassionate care to patients.

Nice To Haves

Certification in medical assisting or healthcare administration.
Previous experience in a healthcare administrative or medical assistant role.
Proficiency in EMR systems and other office software.

Responsibilities

Prepare and process lab samples, ensuring proper labeling and documentation.
Manage patient referrals to specialists, coordinate follow-ups, and keep patients informed.
Monitor medical and office supplies, place orders, and ensure proper storage.
Greet and assist patients during check-in and check-out, verify insurance, and collect payments.
Accurately document findings, appointments, and updates in the electronic medical record system.
Answer phone calls, respond to inquiries, and relay messages to appropriate personnel.
