About The Position

Swain Family Care is seeking a caring, dedicated Medical Assistant to support a busy, established family practice serving patients from birth onward, including those with acute and chronic conditions. The practice emphasizes a supportive, family-like atmosphere and high-quality professional care. The Medical Assistant assists with direct patient care and clinic activities, including preparing for visits, documenting information, collecting patient history and vital signs, preparing exam rooms, assisting with provider-directed procedures, and collecting lab samples. On-the-job training and a career assistance program are offered to help the employee become a Certified Medical Assistant. The position is full-time, day schedule, Monday through Friday, 8 a.m. to 5 p.m.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification, to be completed within 30 days of hire and maintained.
• Critical thinking skills and decisive judgment.
• Ability to work with minimal supervision.

Nice To Haves

• Past experience in the medical field is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Assist with the direct care of patients.
• Prepare for patient visits and document visit information.
• Obtain patients' vital signs, medical histories, and other pertinent information.
• Prepare exam rooms for patients.
• Assist with procedures as directed by the Provider.
• Assist with collection of lab samples.
