About The Position

Baptist Health is seeking an energetic and dynamic Medical Assistant for its Baptist MD Anderson Medical Oncology Clinic at the Clay campus in Fleming Island, Florida. This is a full-time position requiring a 40-hour workweek. The Medical Assistant will primarily support the Clay campus and may be asked to travel to other campuses as needed. In the medical oncology clinic, the Medical Assistant supports patients and providers throughout the cancer care journey. Duties include rooming patients, obtaining vital signs, updating medical histories, reconciling medications, and preparing patients for examinations and treatments. The role also supports care coordination, clinic workflow, accurate medical records, and compassionate assistance to patients and families navigating oncology care.

Requirements

High school diploma.
Basic Life Support (AHA) certification.

Nice To Haves

Certified Medical Assistant.

Responsibilities

Provide nursing assistance to the physician and advanced practice provider (APP).
Obtain patients’ vital signs, weights, and heights.
Greet and chaperone patients as needed during medical visits.
Document information in the medical record as indicated for the role.
Room patients and prepare them for examinations and treatments.
Update medical histories and reconcile medications.
Coordinate care by scheduling appointments, managing referrals, and processing prior authorizations.
Communicate with patients regarding treatment plans and follow-up care.
Help maintain accurate medical records and support clinic workflow.
Provide compassionate assistance to patients and families navigating oncology care.
Travel to other campuses as needed.
