About The Position

The Medical Assistant supports the care team by performing clinical and administrative tasks essential to patient care while following applicable regulations and guidelines to protect patient safety and confidentiality. The role calls for professionalism and compassion in all interactions. As a member of the ambulatory care team, the Medical Assistant supports providers, connects with patients, and helps deliver a coordinated, seamless care experience. This is a part-time PRN position scheduled according to clinic staffing needs and provider coverage.

Requirements

• High school diploma or GED.
• Completion of an accredited or approved Medical Assistant program, or two years of verifiable full-time experience as a Medical Assistant within the last five years.

Responsibilities

• Welcome patients and support their transition into care.
• Take and record vital signs, medical histories, and health screenings.
• Prepare patients for examinations and assist providers during procedures.
• Administer medications and vaccines as directed.
• Perform laboratory-related tasks, including specimen collection and point-of-care testing.
• Document care accurately in the electronic health record.
• Work with physicians, nurses, and teammates to provide coordinated, high-quality care.
• Follow relevant regulations and guidelines to ensure patient safety and confidentiality.
