About The Position

Salud is seeking a Temporary Medical Assistant to join their team, providing welcoming care to patients. This role is crucial in ensuring patients feel respected and cared for, contributing to a positive healing journey. The Medical Assistant acts as the first point of contact, assessing patient needs, taking vitals, documenting information, and maintaining a clean environment.

Requirements

• Ability to work with people from all walks of life and meet them in their place of need.
• Current Medical Assistant Certificate.
• If not certified/registered upon hire, must complete Medical Assistant certification/registration testing within 3 months of hire, with an additional 3 months to retake if failed. All Medical Assistants must be certified within 6 months of hire and maintain certification throughout employment.
• Medical Assistants without formal training must have a current Certification/Registration as a Medical Assistant.
• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• This position REQUIRES a Medical Assistant (MA) Certification. A CNA certification is NOT equivalent.

Nice To Haves

• Successful completion of a formal Medical Assistant training program, a minimum of 6 months in length, preferred.
• Previous healthcare experience is preferred but not required.
• Bilingual English/Spanish preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provide welcoming care to patients.
• Determine the nature of the patient's visit.
• Obtain vitals.
• Perform thorough and concise chart documentation.
• Maintain a clean and organized environment for patients and staff.
