About The Position
Sun River Health is seeking a Full-Time Medical Assistant to support our Bronx Boulevard location. A Medical Assistant helps patients and the clinical team by performing various tasks in support of medical care as directed by nursing and medical staff, adhering to the Center's objectives and policies. This role involves performing job duties in compliance with systems and job-specific standards, and additional assigned tasks.
Requirements
- High School diploma/ GED with Medical Assistant Training Certificate
- 0-1 year of related work experience

Responsibilities
- Completes the rooming process and takes vital signs, vision, and/or hearing tests.
- Records patient data in eCW, including laboratory results, pain level, PEAS, PhQ, Smoke status, etc.
- Documents the reason for the visit.
- Performs in-house labs and collects specimens for outside labs (e.g., Pap, cultures).
- Performs quality control in accordance with organizational protocols.
- Keeps the clinical area stocked and organized.
- Ensures all dated materials are current and disposes of outdated supplies.
- Cleans and sterilizes all equipment and logs each time this service is performed.
- Performs basic clerical work in the service area, answers phones appropriately, communicates problems/concerns to the nurse, and handles telephone inquiries.
- Ensures all appropriate logs are maintained.
