Medical Assistant - Ambulatory Urology - MA
About The Position
The medical assistant performs assigned direct and indirect care tasks in an ambulatory setting to meet patient care needs, under the direct supervision of a physician or assigned supervisor. As a member of the health care team, the medical assistant accepts appropriate delegation from an RN or physician to support patients and families. Duties are performed according to the patient care plan, organizational policies and procedures, and principles of relationship-based care. The medical assistant also carries out designated activities that are legally permitted for unlicensed health care personnel. This position is based in Arizona and requires daytime availability, with flexibility potentially needed to meet staffing needs.
Requirements
- High school diploma or GED equivalent.
- Graduate of a Medical Assistant diploma or associate degree program.
- Active Medical Assistant certification (CMA), registration (RMA), or Certified Clinical Medical Assistant (CCMA).
- Maintain Basic Life Support (BLS) competency.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Experience working in a team environment.
- Computer proficiency, including prior experience with electronic medical record systems.
- Ability to work daytime hours; flexibility may be required to meet staffing needs.
- Ability to adapt to unpredictable situations within the work setting.
