About The Position
Precision Orthopedics & Sports Medicine is seeking a Medical Assistant for PRN work and full-time temporary hours in Laurel, Maryland. The Medical Assistant supports patients and healthcare providers by performing clinical and administrative tasks, helping ensure high-quality care and efficient clinic operations. The role includes preparing patients for examinations, assisting providers during procedures, maintaining patient records, and supporting accurate diagnoses and treatment plans. The position also involves phlebotomy, specimen processing, appointment scheduling, patient-flow coordination, and assisting a physician with C-Arm.
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Completion of a medical assistant training program.
- Certification as a Medical Assistant (CMA) or equivalent.
- Medical assisting and phlebotomy skills.
- Proficiency in using medical instruments and performing sterilization techniques.
- Ability to draw blood and process specimens accurately.
- Strong organizational skills for managing patient records and coordinating appointments.
Nice To Haves
- Experience in a clinical setting, preferably in a healthcare facility.
- Knowledge of electronic health record (EHR) systems.
- Bilingual skills to assist diverse patient populations.
Responsibilities
- Prepare patients for examinations by taking vital signs and medical histories.
- Assist healthcare providers during examinations and procedures, ensuring a sterile environment.
- Perform phlebotomy and specimen processing, including collecting and handling samples.
- Manage patient records and ensure accurate documentation of medical information.
- Schedule appointments and coordinate patient flow to optimize clinic efficiency.
- Assist a physician with C-Arm.
