Medical Assistant- Lakewood Ranch
About The Position
MaxHealth is hiring a full-time Medical Assistant in Lakewood Ranch to support patient care and clinic operations. The role involves welcoming and triaging patients, preparing examination and procedure rooms, collecting patient histories and measurements, and assisting physicians with examinations, procedures, and treatments. The Medical Assistant also performs administrative and front desk tasks, including scheduling appointments and procedures and managing pre-authorizations, medical records, and test results. The position requires a compassionate, service-oriented approach, comfort working in a fast-paced environment, and the ability to multitask. The starting salary is $20.00 per hour, with compensation depending on experience. The clinic operates Monday through Thursday, 7:15 a.m. to 5:30 p.m., at Palmbrush Trail in Lakewood Ranch.
Requirements
- At least 1 year of experience as a Medical Assistant.
- Ability to stand for extended periods and occasionally lift up to 50 pounds.
- Computer literacy, including experience using EMR/EHR systems.
- Computer proficiency.
- Compassionate, service-oriented, and able to multitask in a fast-paced environment.
Responsibilities
- Greet and triage patients upon arrival.
- Prepare examination and procedure rooms.
- Obtain patients’ medical histories, vital signs, and height and weight measurements.
- Assist physicians with examinations, procedures, and treatments.
- Schedule patient appointments and procedures as needed.
- Manage pre-authorizations, medical records, and test results.
- Maintain a calming and empathetic presence for patients.
