About The Position

The Medical Assistant (MA) in Urogynecology and Female Pelvic Reconstructive Surgery will provide clinical care under the direction of the office Practice Manager and Physicians. This role involves documenting vital signs, allergies, medications, and reason for office visits, as well as taking medical histories. The MA will prepare patients for examinations and procedures, perform various clinical tasks such as bladder scans, void trials, and catheterizations, and assist the physician during procedures. Responsibilities also include collecting and preparing specimens, sterilizing medical equipment using High Level Disinfection, answering phones, scheduling patients, reviewing provider templates, and performing other delegated functions. This position requires travel to various locations for coverage and training in Gynecological Pain & MIS.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent work experience required
  • CPR certification through the American Heart Association required
  • One year of work experience required

Nice To Haves

  • Graduate of an accredited medical assisting program is preferred
  • Medical Assistant Certification (AMT or AAMA) is preferred
  • Previous experience working in a Women’s Health medical office (or related field) is preferred
