About The Position

The Medical Assistant intern must learn and understand the basic principles and methods used in the department and follow established protocols at all times. The position is part time and is associated with the GSMC department. Applicants must be high school students age 16 or older with a work permit, or high school graduates enrolled in a degree or vocational program. Attendance at Southeastern Vocational Technical High School is required. Experience in hospital outpatient areas or community health centers is desirable. Candidates should be detail-oriented, communicate and interact effectively with diplomacy, stay organized, and work independently after receiving direction.

Requirements

• Must be a high school student age 16 or older with a permit to work, or a high school graduate enrolled in a degree or vocational program.
• Must attend Southeastern Vocational Technical High School.
• Be detail-oriented.
• Have good communication skills and diplomacy to interact and communicate effectively.
• Be able to stay organized and work independently once given direction.

Nice To Haves

• Experience working in outpatient areas of a hospital or in community health centers is desirable.
