About The Position

The Medical Assistant supports dermatology physicians by delivering high-quality patient care. The role includes rooming patients, updating medical histories, documenting visit details, and assisting with dermatological and cosmetic procedures. The Medical Assistant works with a team managing an average volume of up to 40 patients daily and may be assigned additional or modified duties based on operational needs.

Requirements

High school diploma or GED.
0–3 years of medical assistant experience; dermatology experience is preferred.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications.
Strong attention to detail and ability to maintain accurate patient records.
Effective communication and teamwork skills.
Willingness to travel to all locations.
Ability to meet the physical and vision requirements described, with or without reasonable accommodations.

Responsibilities

Collaborate with a team to manage an average patient volume of up to 40 patients daily.
Document patient histories, including HPI, medical, surgical, and family history, medications, and allergies.
Prepare for and assist with dermatological and cosmetic procedures, including ED&Cs, shave and punch biopsies, ILK, I&D, Botox, laser treatments, excisions, and other surgical interventions.
Administer local anesthesia and remove sutures as directed.
Follow sterile techniques and infection control practices and protocols.
Perform scribing responsibilities, including entering templates and chart notes as directed by physicians.
Process prescription refills and manage prior authorizations.
Log pathology samples and coordinate with appropriate laboratories.
Operate Narrowband UVB and photodynamic therapy units.
Maintain and replenish liquid nitrogen containers.
Clean and stock examination rooms and supply areas.
Maintain reliable and consistent attendance.
Perform other duties as assigned by the supervising physician or department lead.
