Medical Assistant, Part-Time
About The Position
Northside Hospital is an award-winning, state-of-the-art, continually growing healthcare organization. The Medical Assistant provides nursing assistance and patient care to support patients’ comfort, safety, and personal needs. In a medical office setting, the Medical Assistant assists physicians, physician assistants, and nurse practitioners and performs patient care duties as part of a multidisciplinary team. Duties are delegated by a physician, and specific responsibilities are determined by the supervising physician(s), clinical staff, and Practice Coordinator after competency is established.
Requirements
- At least one year of healthcare experience as a Medical Assistant.
- Hold American Heart Association Basic Life Support certification.
- Visual color acuity screening, depending on the role in specific units.
Responsibilities
- Provide nursing assistance and patient care to support patients’ comfort, safety, and personal needs.
- Assist physicians, physician assistants, and nurse practitioners in a medical office setting.
- Perform patient care duties within a multidisciplinary patient care team as delegated by a physician.
- Carry out specific duties and responsibilities assigned by the supervising physician(s), clinical staff, and Practice Coordinator after competency is established.
