About The Position

Medical Assistant (MA) - Digestive and Liver Specialists. This is a Full Time position with Day shifts. The role involves assisting with patient assessments and treatments under physician or nurse supervision, performing basic diagnostic procedures and specimen collection, monitoring and communicating patient condition changes, documenting patient care, maintaining equipment and supplies, maintaining examination areas, and performing administrative or clerical duties as assigned.

Requirements

• High School diploma or equivalent required.
• Graduate of accredited medical assistance program or equivalent.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) obtain within 60 days of hire.
• Requires critical thinking skills, decisive judgment and the ability to work with minimal supervision.
• Must be able to work in a stressful environment and take appropriate action.
• Registered Medical Assistant (RMA), Certified Clinical Medical Assistant (CCMA), Certified Medical Assistant (CMA)

Nice To Haves

• One-year related experience, preferred.
• One year clinic experience, preferred.

Responsibilities

• Under the supervision of physician or nurse, assists with performing patient assessments and treatments.
• Performs basic diagnostic procedures and specimen collection.
• Monitors and communicates changes in patient condition.
• Documents patient care given.
• Maintains equipment and medical supplies, including reordering, stocking, cleaning and troubleshooting.
• Maintains examination areas.
• Performs administrative or clerical duties an assigned, including filing, reception, scheduling, data entry, and patient registration.
