About The Position

Marquette General Hospital, part of Lifepoint Health, is seeking a full-time Medical Assistant (MA) for their Digestive & Liver, Respiratory Medicine, & Bariatric department. This role is crucial in supporting patient care within a busy clinic environment. The Medical Assistant will work under the supervision of a physician or nurse, assisting with patient assessments, treatments, and basic diagnostic procedures. They will also be responsible for monitoring patient conditions, documenting care, maintaining supplies and equipment, and performing administrative duties. Requirements

  • High School diploma or equivalent required.
  • Graduate of accredited medical assistance program or equivalent
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) obtain within 60 days of hire.
  • One-year related experience, preferred.
  • One year clinic experience, preferred.
  • Registered Medical Assistant (RMA), Certified Clinical Medical Assistant (CCMA), Certified Medical Assistant (CMA)
  • Requires critical thinking skills, decisive judgment and the ability to work with minimal supervision.
  • Must be able to work in a stressful environment and take appropriate action.

Responsibilities

  • Under the supervision of physician or nurse, assists with performing patient assessments and treatments.
  • Performs basic diagnostic procedures and specimen collection.
  • Monitors and communicates changes in patient condition.
  • Documents patient care given.
  • Maintains equipment and medical supplies, including reordering, stocking, cleaning and troubleshooting. Maintains examination areas.
  • Performs administrative or clerical duties as assigned, including filing, reception, scheduling, data entry, and patient registration.
