About The Position

Piedmont Urgent Care is hiring a Medical Assistant for its Loganville location. The Medical Assistant is a key member of the healthcare team, providing hands-on patient care and supporting smooth clinic operations in a fast-paced, team-oriented clinical environment. The role includes patient preparation, triage, documentation, specimen collection, medication administration, clinical procedures, occupational medicine services, regulatory compliance, and administrative duties. The position may require travel to other Piedmont Urgent Care locations to support staffing and operational needs. This is a full-time schedule of three 12-hour shifts, 8 AM to 8 PM, with no overnight shifts. The role requires the ability to work weekends and holidays. Requirements

Completion of an accredited Medical Assistant program.
Proficiency in venipuncture, injections, and clinical procedures.
Experience using Electronic Medical Records software.
Ability to work 12-hour shifts, weekends, and holidays.
A positive, proactive approach to patient care and collaboration.
Ability to sit, stand, walk, reach, and use hands and arms throughout the workday.
Manual dexterity and hand coordination sufficient to perform assigned clinical duties.
Ability to occasionally lift or move moderate weight, generally between 20 and 40 pounds.
Vision abilities including close vision, distance vision, and the ability to adjust focus.

Nice To Haves

One or more years of healthcare experience is preferred; urgent care or emergency room experience is a plus. Outstanding new graduates may be trained.
Experience with EPIC is preferred.

Responsibilities

Prepare patients for examinations and treatments, ensuring they are comfortable and informed.
Perform triage and accurately take vital signs.
Obtain and document detailed patient histories in the Electronic Medical Record system in a timely manner.
Collect routine laboratory specimens, including blood, urine, and oral swabs.
Administer medications and non-intravenous injections, including intramuscular, subcutaneous, and intradermal injections.
Start IVs, place catheters, and perform splinting when necessary.
Perform basic clinical, aseptic, and laboratory procedures to support patient care.
Assist with Occupational Medicine services, including drug screening, breath alcohol testing, audiograms, and pulmonary function testing, following company protocols.
Enforce and maintain healthcare regulatory requirements, including HIPAA and OSHA compliance.
Perform office procedures and general administrative tasks, and operate office medical equipment.
Oversee compliance with quality assurance programs, CLIA-waived laboratory requirements, and patient result trackers.
Travel to other Piedmont Urgent Care locations as required to support staffing and operational needs.
