Medical Assistant l Pediatrics Clinic
About The Position
Emplify Health is seeking a Medical Assistant to support its Pediatrics Clinic. The role focuses on welcoming pediatric patients and families, maintaining accurate patient charts, taking vital signs, and assisting nurses and providers with procedures. The Medical Assistant will work with a supportive team of providers, medical professionals, and managers to help patients with their health journeys. The position is listed as 0.9 FTE, with 72 hours bi-weekly. The schedule is Monday through Friday, with day shifts between 7:30 a.m. and 5:00 p.m., and occasional Saturday coverage for the newborn clinic. No holiday hours are required. Starting pay is $21.34 per hour, with additional pay for experience. Emplify Health is a not-for-profit, patient-centered healthcare network based in Green Bay and La Crosse, Wisconsin. It includes 11 hospitals and more than 100 clinics serving 67 cities across Wisconsin, Iowa, Minnesota, and Michigan’s Upper Peninsula.
Requirements
- Graduate of a Medical Assistant, Practical Nursing, or Vocational Nurse program, or completion of education that makes the candidate eligible for NCLEX-PN; alternatively, a high school diploma or equivalent and a Medical Assistant Certification.
- BLS certification for healthcare workers.
- Medical Assistant Certification within 15 months of hire.
Responsibilities
- Greet patients and families warmly and help set a welcoming tone for appointments.
- Update patient information in charting systems.
- Take patients’ vital signs.
- Work hands-on with nurses and providers during procedures.
- Partner with providers, medical professionals, and managers to support patients’ care journeys.
