About The Position

The Medical Assistant completes clinical and administrative tasks within the clinic and works alongside providers to support patient care and smooth clinic operations. The Medical Assistant is the first point of patient care, rooms and prepares patients according to clinic-specific checklists or procedures, and measures patient weight, height, oxygen saturation, respiration, temperature, pulse, and blood pressure. The role also includes completing patient-care documentation, such as medical histories and referral requests, and assisting teammates and providers with day-to-day operations as needed.

Requirements

Credentialed Medical Assistant pathway: Credential as a Medical Assistant from an approved Munson Healthcare Credentialing Organization.
Non-credentialed Medical Assistant pathway: One year of relevant experience in a physician practice or similar healthcare setting in provider/patient support, or graduation from a Medical Assistant Program approved by Munson Healthcare.
BLS certification must be obtained within 90 days of hire and maintained.
Employees must be vaccinated or have lab-confirmed immunity for Measles, Mumps, Rubella, and Varicella.
Employees must receive a flu vaccine during the flu season in the year they are hired and annually thereafter, or receive an approved medical or religious exemption.

Nice To Haves

High school graduate or GED equivalent is preferred.
BLS certification is preferred.

Responsibilities

Room and prepare patients according to clinic-specific checklists or procedures.
Measure patient weight, height, oxygen saturation, respiration, temperature, pulse, and blood pressure using manual or automatic methods as applicable.
Complete required patient-care documentation, including medical histories and referral requests.
Assist with day-to-day clinic operations and support teammates and providers as needed.
