About The Position

AZ Gastro Care is seeking a skilled and motivated Medical Assistant to support providers in a clinical setting at its East Mesa location. The role involves administrative and clinical tasks that help ensure smooth patient flow, accurate documentation, and excellent patient care. It is suited to someone with an interest in GI health, strong organizational skills, and a commitment to patient-centered care. The schedule is Monday through Friday, 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM; hours may vary slightly depending on clinic schedules. The listed salary range is $18.00–$21.00 per hour. The posting also describes competitive market pay of $18–$22, depending on experience.

Requirements

High school diploma or equivalent.
Completion of a Medical Assistant program or equivalent experience.
Excellent problem-solving skills.
Detail-oriented, disciplined, and organized.
Ability to multitask and work quickly amid changing circumstances and priorities.
Ability to communicate effectively with internal teams, patients, and their families and build positive working relationships.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Understanding of medical terminology, diagnostic procedures, pharmacology, and treatment assessments sufficient to accurately transcribe dictated reports.
Ability to expand medical abbreviations into their full forms.
Strong computer skills.
Strong attention to detail and multitasking ability.

Nice To Haves

Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) or Registered Medical Assistant (RMA) certification; preferred but not required.
Prior experience in gastroenterology or a medical office setting.
Familiarity with EMR systems such as Epic, Gastro, or eClinicalWorks.
CPR certification, or willingness to obtain it.
