About The Position

This is a full-time position for a Medical Assistant in Artesia, NM. The role involves obtaining and documenting patient vitals, performing bedside testing, and basic nursing procedures. Responsibilities also include maintaining the cleanliness of office and examination rooms, managing equipment, and ensuring supply inventory. Basic clerical duties are also part of the role.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Specialized, short-term training in basic patient care.
• Formal nursing assistant and/or medical assistant training required.
• Demonstrates the basic knowledge and skills necessary to identify age-specific patient needs appropriate for this position.
• Treats all information and data within the scope of the position with appropriate confidentiality and security.
• Cooperates fully in all Risk Management, Quality Management, and Safety Activities and Investigations.

Nice To Haves

• Experience in a clinic setting preferred.
• Certification in Nurse Assisting or Certification in Medical Assisting preferred.

Responsibilities

• Obtain and document patient vitals.
• Perform bedside testing.
• Perform basic nursing procedures such as oral care, perineal/foley care, non-sterile soaks, or thermal applications.
• Ensure cleanliness of office and examination rooms.
• Clean and store equipment.
• Maintain supply inventory and re-stock as required.
