About The Position
A ProMedica Medical Assistant is a key member of the patient-centered care delivery model in an office setting. The role provides a safe patient experience, gathers patient information, documents reasons for visits, and obtains vital signs. The Medical Assistant communicates with patients and coworkers and collaborates with leadership to recommend changes that improve patient care. The position also involves answering patient phone calls and relaying messages to providers or nurses. This summary describes the general nature and level of work and is not exhaustive.
Requirements
- High school graduate or equivalent.
- Current BLS (CPR) course card from the American Heart Association (AHA) at the time of employment, or obtain certification within 90 days of hire.
Nice To Haves
- Previous experience in a medical office.
- Certified or Registered Medical Assistant.
Responsibilities
- Gather data from patients.
- Document the reasons for patient visits.
