Medical Assistant - CCH Clinic System - PRN
About The Position
The Medical Assistant assists doctors and nurses in providing patient care and supports providers in delivering high-quality care efficiently. The role includes maintaining patient histories and contact information, scheduling appointments, and performing standard care procedures such as drawing blood, checking vital signs, and collecting lab samples. The Medical Assistant must understand clinic operations and how the role works with other clinic teams to support good patient care. The position covers all CCH clinics on an as-needed basis and involves communicating patient instructions clearly and effectively.
Requirements
- Must be certified with the State of Mississippi Board of Nursing.
- Must have CPR certification.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Superior customer service skills.
- A high level of professionalism.

Responsibilities
- Assist doctors and nurses in providing care to patients.
- Record and update medical histories and contact information in patient files.
- Schedule patient appointments.
- Draw blood and obtain blood samples.
- Check, measure, and record vital signs.
- Collect lab samples.
- Perform data entry.
- Communicate patient instructions clearly and effectively.
- Work with other clinic teams to support clinic goals and efficient care.
- Clean exam rooms.
- Answer phone calls.
- Cover all CCH clinics on an as-needed basis.
