About The Position

MaxHealth is hiring a full-time Medical Assistant at its St. Petersburg location on 7th St S. The Medical Assistant supports patient care in a fast-paced primary care setting by welcoming and triaging patients, preparing examination and procedure rooms, gathering patient histories and measurements, and assisting physicians with examinations, procedures, and treatments. The role also includes administrative duties such as scheduling appointments and procedures and managing pre-authorizations, medical records, and test results. Normal hours of operation are Monday through Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Starting pay is $20.00 per hour, with compensation depending on experience.

Requirements

• At least 1 year of experience as a Medical Assistant.
• Ability to stand for extended periods and occasionally lift up to 50 pounds.
• Computer literacy and proficiency, including experience using an EMR/EHR.
• Compassionate, service-oriented approach and ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities

• Greet patients and triage them upon arrival.
• Prepare examination and procedure rooms for patients.
• Obtain patient histories, vital signs, height, and weight measurements.
• Assist physicians with examinations, procedures, and treatments.
• Schedule patient appointments and procedures as needed.
• Manage pre-authorizations, medical records, and test results.
