About The Position

MainStreet Family Care is seeking energetic, fast, and friendly Medical Assistants to support patient care at its Forest City, North Carolina clinic. The organization provides urgent care, primary care, telemedicine, and occupational medicine services. The Medical Assistant assists on-site providers with patient intake, assessment, treatment, and discharge, helping ensure optimal delivery of medical care. The position follows a rotating schedule, alternating between four workdays one week and three the next, for seven workdays in each 14-day period. The schedule includes every other weekend. Clinic hours are subject to change. The position begins at $15 per hour. Pre-employment background checks and drug screenings are required.

Requirements

High school diploma or equivalent.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Experience working with Microsoft Office, including Word and Excel.

Nice To Haves

Prior medical assisting experience or education.

Responsibilities

Assist providers in the care of patients to support optimal delivery of medical care.
Triage patients promptly and according to clinic procedures.
Record vital signs, weight, and updates to patients’ medical histories before each visit.
Perform laboratory tests in accordance with clinical guidelines and provider instructions.
Manage digital patient records and support the transition from paper records to electronic systems.
Prepare examination rooms for appointments, ensuring they are clean and ready.
Administer prescribed medications under provider supervision.
Assist healthcare providers during patient examinations and procedures.
Position patients for x-rays as directed by providers.
Help monitor and manage medical inventory as needed.
