Medical Assistant - Ear, Nose & Throat Clinics
About The Position
The Medical Assistant works in Nebraska Medicine’s Ear, Nose & Throat Clinic alongside ear, nose, and throat specialists, supporting the diagnosis and treatment of a range of conditions, including chronic sinus problems, voice disorders, hearing loss, head and neck tumors, and complex airway issues. The position has a hands-on role in patient care and helps facilitate advanced procedures, collaborating with a multidisciplinary team to support individualized care plans. The Medical Assistant provides quality care under the direction of licensed practitioners, assists physicians and support staff, and promotes efficient clinic operations. The role also provides professional, engaging customer service to patients and others.
Requirements
- Graduate of an approved Medical Assistant Program.
- Demonstrate effective communication skills.
- Obtain Basic Life Support (BLS) certification within 30 days of hire from an American Heart Association-endorsed program; this requirement applies to new hires starting January 1, 2023 or later.
- If required to administer medications, have a current Medication Aid Registry listing or complete it within the first 30 days of hire or transfer, and maintain it thereafter.
Nice To Haves
- Experience in a physician’s office.
- Experience in a related area.
- Bilingual ability in English and Spanish for work in certain clinics.
- Medical assistant certification.
- Medical Scribe experience.
Responsibilities
