About The Position

Sentara MJH Medical Group Admin Offices is seeking a Medical Assistant non-certified in Charlottesville, VA! This is primarily a clinical MA role, with cross-training and support for front desk duties as needed. The home location is 5th Street Station, but the role will float to all designated practices as needed. The Medical Assistant performs patient care and administrative and clerical related tasks and procedures based on training, education, and competency evaluations, and as delegated by and under the direction/supervision of the Physician, Nurse Practitioner, Physician Assistant (NP/PA), Registered Nurse (RN), or Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN). The role supports 10 Primary Care practices across the Charlottesville/Waynesboro market.

Requirements

• One year of clinical/administrative experience required
• High School Diploma or equivalent required
• Certification must be received within (9) nine months of employment in one of the following certification programs: CCMA- Certified Clinical Medical Assistant or CMA- Certified Medical Assistant or RMA- Registered Medical Assistant or EMT- Emergency Medical Technician
• BLS is required within 90 days of hire.

Nice To Haves

• Phlebotomy experience preferred

Responsibilities

• Provides cross-training and support for front desk duties as needed.
• Floats between practices as needed based on staffing demands.
