About The Position

MainStreet Family Care is seeking an energetic, fast, and friendly Medical Assistant to support care delivery at its Centre, Alabama clinic. The role assists the on-site provider with patient intake, assessment, treatment, and discharge, supporting the company’s urgent care, primary care, telemedicine, and occupational medicine services. The position begins at $15 per hour. This is a PRN position with a rotating schedule, so flexibility is essential. The schedule may include working at other clinics as needed. Pre-employment background checks and drug screenings are required.

Requirements

High school diploma or equivalent.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Experience working with Microsoft Office, including Word and Excel.
Flexibility with scheduling.

Nice To Haves

Prior medical assisting experience or education.

Responsibilities

Assist providers in caring for patients to support optimal delivery of medical care.
Triage patients promptly and according to clinic procedures.
Document vital signs, weight, and updates to patients’ medical histories before each visit.
Perform lab tests in accordance with clinical guidelines and provider instructions.
Manage digital patient records and support the transition from paper records to electronic systems.
Prepare examination rooms for appointments, ensuring they are clean and ready.
Administer prescribed medications under provider supervision.
Assist healthcare providers during patient examinations and procedures.
Position patients for x-rays according to provider directives.
Help monitor and manage medical inventory as needed.
