About The Position

The Medical Assistant acts as a collaborative member of the clinical team to provide continuity and quality patient care. The role includes patient registration, insurance verification, scheduling, answering telephones, and returning patient calls. The Medical Assistant initiates patient care assessments, gathers vital signs, prepares patients and exam rooms for procedures, collects specimens, and provides patient education and support as needed to assist the physician, patient, and family.

Requirements

• High school diploma or GED.
• Certified Medical Assistant.
• At least one year of clinic experience.
• Excellent communication skills.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, prioritize, and change tasks frequently and quickly.
• Ability to use a computer, fax machine, and copy machine.
• Detail-oriented and able to work well in a team environment.
• BCLS certification must be received within the orientation period.

Nice To Haves

• Phlebotomy experience.
• Previous customer service experience.
• Typing, word processing, computer, and telephone skills.
• Experience with GPMS/EMR.
