The Medical Assistant provides nursing assistance and patient care to support patients’ comfort, safety, and personal needs. The role assists physicians, physician assistants, and nurse practitioners in a medical office setting and performs patient care duties as delegated by a physician within a multidisciplinary patient care team. Specific duties and responsibilities are determined by the supervising physician(s), clinical staff, and Practice Coordinator after competency is established.
Requirements
- One year of healthcare experience as a Medical Assistant.
- Current American Heart Association Basic Life Support certification.
- Visual color acuity screening may be required depending on the role in specific units.
Responsibilities
- Provide nursing assistance and patient care to support patients’ comfort, safety, and personal needs.
- Assist physicians, physician assistants, and nurse practitioners in a medical office setting.
