About The Position

This Medical Assistant role provides essential front-office support, including handling phones, verifying insurance, and delivering high-quality customer service in a patient-centered environment. The position is a 3–4 month maternity leave coverage with the potential for extension and/or permanent placement, offering the opportunity to contribute meaningfully while gaining experience in a clinically led, growth-oriented organization.

Requirements

  • Proven administrative support experience, preferably in a medical or healthcare setting (MA experience preferred).
  • Strong administrative skills, including organization, attention to detail, and the ability to manage multiple tasks.
  • Reliable and punctual work habits, with a strong sense of responsibility and dependability.
  • Customer service skills with the ability to communicate clearly and professionally over the phone and in person.
  • Comfort with handling phones and managing a high volume of calls in a courteous and efficient manner.
  • Ability to learn and follow office procedures related to insurance checks and patient support.

Responsibilities

  • Answer and manage incoming phone calls promptly and professionally, directing inquiries to the appropriate staff or department.
  • Perform insurance checks accurately, including verifying coverage and benefits, and communicating relevant information to patients or internal teams.
  • Provide reliable administrative support to ensure smooth daily operations within the office.
  • Deliver courteous and responsive customer service to patients, visitors, and colleagues, addressing questions and concerns with professionalism.
  • Assist with general administrative tasks such as scheduling, organizing information, and maintaining orderly records as needed.
  • Collaborate with clinical and administrative staff, adapting to multiple priorities and directions throughout the day.
  • Maintain punctuality and consistent attendance to support reliable office coverage during business hours.
  • Uphold a patient-centered approach in all interactions, contributing to a welcoming and supportive environment.
