About The Position

Valleywise Health is hiring Medical Assistants for a pool position in ambulatory care. The role works alongside physicians and nurses in a fast-paced, supportive team and contributes directly to patient care through rooming patients, assisting with procedures, and providing patient education. The position offers an hourly pay rate of $23.00.

Requirements

• Graduation from an accredited Medical Assistant program or completion of a Valleywise Health-approved course.
• Must be eligible to sit for one of these certification exams: Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) issued by the American Association of Medical Assistants (AAMA); Registered Medical Assistant (RMA) issued by American Medical Technologists (AMT); or Certified Clinical Medical Assistant (CCMA) issued by the National Health Career Association (NHA).
• A Basic Life Support (BLS) card obtained through an approved American Heart Association (AHA) training center is required at the time of hire.
• Must have a valid fingerprint clearance card issued by the Arizona Department of Public Safety or submit a completed Affidavit at hire; must complete the fingerprint clearance card application within seven days of hire and present the actual card within 90 days of applying.
• Ability to read, write, and speak effectively in English.
• Ability to work with culturally diverse people.
• Excellent communication, time management, and leadership skills.

Nice To Haves

• High school diploma or GED is preferred.
• At least one year of relevant related experience, preferably in a clinic setting.
• Bilingual ability.
