About The Position

Swansea Wood School is a residential treatment setting for adolescents that specializes in trauma informed care. Swansea Wood provides 24-hour comprehensive care including a school on site, a full clinical staff, nursing staff, and direct care staff. In this position, you will be able to convey your passion for helping others with a dynamic team by bringing an energetic and positive approach while working with our students!

Requirements

  • Must be 21 years of age.
  • Medical Assistant or Certified Nursing Assistant certificate required.
  • Maintains valid driver’s license as transporting students is required.
  • Available to work evenings, holidays, weekend shifts as required.
  • Background and driving record checks will be performed.

  • Experience working with specialized populations of adolescents preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Educating and providing health care services to promote healthy choices that enhances our students’ physical and mental well-being.
  • Creating a safe and therapeutic community by providing oversight and vigilance around documenting and administering medications and completing assessments to ensure the best treatment for our students.
  • Helping students discover what makes them feel competent and valued by working with them to develop awareness around their medical needs and how to make healthy choices around nutrition, hygiene and exercise.
  • Providing physical interventions and verbal de-escalations to provide the safest therapeutic atmosphere for our students.
