Medical Assistant Pulse Vascular Clinic
About The Position
The Medical Assistant position at Pulse Vascular is typically an 8 hour scheduled shift, but potentially could have longer days every so often. This position primarily works out of Tacoma, but could be scheduled at Auburn or Puyallup if there is a critical need. The Certified Medical Assistant (MA-C) is an integral part of the Physician/Advanced Practice Provider (APP) office team working under the direction and supervision of a licensed healthcare practitioner. Work situations require performance of safe clinical skills within the scope of practice of the MA-C. The MA-C has continuous contact with physicians, APPs, nurses, front office staff, patients and their families/caregivers.
Requirements
- Washington State Medical Assistant-Certified (MA-C)
- Current BLS certification
Nice To Haves
- Minimum of one (1) year of experience in a healthcare setting preferred
Responsibilities
- Organizing patient flow in collaboration with the front office staff
- Interviewing patients
- Obtaining vital signs
- Assisting patients in preparing for exams or treatments
- Performing specimen collection, including venipuncture
- Administration of medications in compliance with Washington State Department of Health regulations and documented competency
- Relaying instructions/information to patients and their families/caregivers
- Sending and receiving of patient medical records
- Facilitating patient referrals
- Preparing forms for patients
