About The Position
The Certified Medical Assistant (MA-C) is an integral member of the Physician/Advanced Practice Provider (APP) office team and works under the direction and supervision of a licensed healthcare practitioner. The role requires safe clinical skills within the MA-C scope of practice and ongoing interaction with physicians, APPs, nurses, front office staff, patients, and their families or caregivers. This position serves the Pediatric Clinics Float Pool on a per-diem, variable-schedule basis.
Requirements
- Washington State Medical Assistant-Certified (MA-C) credential.
- Current BLS certification.
Nice To Haves
- Minimum of one year of experience in a healthcare setting preferred.
Responsibilities
- Organize patient flow in collaboration with front office staff.
- Interview patients.
- Obtain vital signs.
- Assist patients in preparing for exams or treatments.
- Collect specimens, including through venipuncture.
- Administer medications in compliance with Washington State Department of Health regulations and documented competency.
- Relay instructions and information to patients and their families or caregivers.
- Send and receive patient medical records.
- Facilitate patient referrals.
- Prepare forms for patients.
